Reading for Pleasure

September 19, 2024 by Andrew Soppitt

Exciting news in the RfP calendar with 13th September being Roald Dahl Day. In our school we celebrate this brilliant author for the whole month of September with lots of activities in and around school.
Today one Golden Ticket was hidden and children have been searching for it all day. The one lucky winner will receive some Roald Dahl goodies. Watch this space to see who finds it and where.
This Friday I will be opening a pop up shop featuring Charlie and the Chocolate factory themed treats to eat.
I will be doing this each Friday during the month of September. Prices start at a £1 for the giant marshmallow lollies and there are also biscuits, mix ups, small lollies and other treats for 50p. Oh and there are also Snozwangles for 30p.
Proceeds help towards obtaining books for our Free Book Friday Trolley, Christmas Advent Reading Calendar and other competition prizes as well as World Book Day.
BLPS are very proud of our reading and we give out over 450 free books each year.
Thank you for your support and for those who are still stuck on the word Snozzwangle it’s a type of extra big fruity shoelace 🤔🤪😅🤩🥳
Don’t forget if you have any books in super condition we will always be grateful for your kind donations. We use these for our outdoor libraries which are in Ks1 and Ks2.
